Sparty helped students review their resumes before Speed networking, an event hosted by the College of Communication Arts and Sciences at the Spartan Stadium tower on Friday, February 18, 2011. The event is modeled after speed dating. Karin Hanson, who organized the event, said, "Overall it was very successful. We gave students the opportunity to connect with professionals in their field of interest, and the idea was to remove the barriers of a career fair booth but retain the face to face networking."


Prior to speed networking, an event hosted by the College of Communication Arts and Sciences (CAS) at the Spartan Stadium tower on Friday, February 18, 2011 students were given the opportunity to mingle with professionals from over 80 organizations and 143 other students from the CAS. Karin Hanson, who organized the event, said, "Professionals attended from Harvest Creative in Lansing, Team Detroit, Pepsi, Donor Advertising in Chicago, Green Canyon from Chicago, Hero Interactive, a gaming company, Dow Chemical, and various other companies."


Professionals and students reviewed resumes, discussed job opportunities, and exchanged information at Speed Networking, an event hosted by the College of Communication Arts and Sciences (CAS) at the Spartan Stadium tower on Friday, February 18, 2011 students were given the opportunity to mingle with professionals from over 80 organizations and 143 other students from the CAS.

Over 140 students and 80 professional organizations attended the event. Hanson said, "We gave students the opportunity to connect with professionals in their field of interest, and the idea was to remove the barriers of a career fair booth but retain the face to face networking."


Speed Networking, designed after speed dating, gave students and professionals five minutes to get to know each other before they had to switch partners. The event was hosted by the College of Communication Arts and Sciences at the Spartan Stadium tower on Friday, February 18, 2011. Over 140 students and 80 professional organizations attended the evenJustin Covington, a journalism senior, said, "There aren't many journalism people here. I'm really looking to get into television and screen writing, but its a great opportunity to meet people and get my resume out there."
