The 25th Annual Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Symposium 2011, held at the University of Michigan, featured keynote memorial speaker, Shirley Sherrod, at Hill Auditorium, in Ann Arbor on Monday, March 17.  Sherrod, civil rights activist and former Georgia Rural State Director for the United States Department of Agriculture, related her African American experience as a professional and as a young girl growing up in Georgia during the Civil Rights Era.
